Bespoke Wool Stair Runner with Whipped Edge
A deep pile wool runner custom-whipped on site over a curved flight, with acoustic underlay and matte black stair rods.
What we walked into
The staircase curved through a 180-degree turn, so a straight off-the-shelf runner would not sit flat. The clients also wanted to reduce footfall noise from the open-plan landing below.
What we did about it
We templated the full curved flight on site, hand-whipped the runner edge to a 60mm allowance, and fitted 11mm acoustic underlay beneath to dampen noise transfer between floors.
