Smoked Brushed Engineered Oak over Underfloor Heating
A 120m² floating installation of smoked brushed European oak over underfloor heating, with a thermal acoustic membrane and ply boarded subfloor.
What we walked into
A converted barn with a solid concrete slab and a newly installed manifold underfloor heating system. Solid engineered oak needed correct thermal resistance or the flooring would overheat and cup.
What we did about it
We boarded the slab with moisture-resistant ply, laid a thermal and acoustic membrane between ply and oak, then floated the 190mm engineered planks. Heating was brought up slowly over a staged commissioning schedule.
